ZOLA BRIDGE – VALDISOTTO (SO)

Year 2021
Client: Municipality of Valdisotto
ROAD BRIDGE
Integral Design

The Zola bridge, built before the last war on the Adda river, is inadequate to comply with the new rules of the Highway Code, the new hydrogeological constraints, the size of the two-way carriageway.
The project involved the demolition of an intermediate pile, to increase the hydraulic section and therefore lower the intrados limit, and the consolidation of the other two and of the abutments; the steel deck with collaborating slab was used to replace the existing deck both to adapt to the limits indicated and to reduce construction times, by superimposing the on-site works with those of the workshop.
The inclusion in the existing context of the new lightened form due to the stranded extrados and the increase in central light gives the whole a slender connotation that is harmonized with the areas on the two banks of the Adda river.
